POINT ROBERTS - An elderly White Rock, B.C., man died after crashing into four boats and a motorhome near the Point Roberts marina, according to the Washington State Patrol.

The 81-year-old man was driving a 2002 Chevy Avalanche south on Tyee Drive at 5:39 p.m. Friday, Feb. 1, when he veered to the left then veered to the right, either distracted or suffering from a medical problem, according to investigators. The Chevy crashed through a fence into an RV and a row of boats on dry land, said Trooper Keith Leary.

He died from his injuries, said Whatcom County Medical Examiner Gary Goldfogel. Toxicology tests were pending, but troopers found no signs that the man had been drinking.

His name had not been released as of Monday.
