Voted yes for forest park district

Published: February 3, 2013

It was with a great deal of excitement that I mailed my ballot today voting in support of the Chuckanut Community Forest Park District. I applaud all who have worked so diligently, many since the early '90s, to preserve this contiguous wetland/forest, which is a true urban jewel. I urge all my friends in the proposed park district neighborshoods to vote yes as well, and to trust neighbors, Sue Kaun, Dan Remsen, John Hymas, John Brown, Vince Biciunas and Cathy McKenzie as our district commissioners. Most of these folks have been involved in this effort as long as I have and are passionate about this opportunity!

Vote yes to keep any part of this parcel from development. Vote yes to keep away the traffic, pollution, noise and congestion that would occur should development take place. Vote yes so our children and grandchildren have a forested wetland as their backyard forever. And in voting yes, say no to the fear mongering and anti-community voices that would have it have it another way.
