Residents of Happy Valley and other Southside neighborhoods need to preserve the Chuckanut Community Forest in perpetuity. This forest is an important ecological resource for all of us; we feel great love for it. This high-quality forested wetland complex drains to two salmon streams that our community has worked hard to protect and restore -- Padden and Chuckanut creeks. We who live and own property in Southside neighborhoods will most benefit from the acquisition, and we are being asked to pay a small extra cost. The Happy Valley Neighborhood Association board of directors has endorsed the Chuckanut Community Forest District. Please join us in voting yes, to show that we care enough to help sustain the forest into the future.
