The Nooksack Valley girls' basketball team jumped out to an early lead in its 51-28 win over Sedro-Woolley on Friday, Feb. 1, in its final Northwest Conference regular season game.

"They played really well," Nooksack Valley coach Shane Wichers said in a phone interview. "We had the opportunity to get all the seniors together and they did a great job. We had a season-high 13 assists so they moved the ball really well."

The Pioneers (13-7, 7-5 NWC) were led in scoring by Melissa Stadt, who scored 14 points and had 10 rebounds, and Kaycee DeBruin, who scored 10 points.

"Kaycee had her best shooting game of the year," Wichers said. "It gives us confidence and that we moved the ball so well. We had great looks tonight."

Nooksack Valley will host South Whidbey in the first round of the class 1A Northwest District tournament game Monday, Feb. 4.
