The Lynden Christian girls' basketball team finished its regular season with a 47-31 Northwest Conference win against Sehome on Friday, Feb. 1, in Lynden.
LC's Kassidy Aldrich scored a game-high 12 points off the bench on 5 of 7 shooting, and Makayla Lancaster, Kara Bajema, Courtney Hollander, Karley De Jager and Kayla Tiemersma each scored six points.
"She came off the bench and shot really well," LC coach Curt DeHaan said of Aldrich in a phone interview.
The Lyncs outscored Sehome 13-2 in the first quarter thanks to suffocating defensive pressure.
"We did an excellent job defensively in the first quarter to get the lead," DeHaan said. "They made a run in the third quarter. (Sehome's Megan) Bayless hit a couple 3s, but we were able to open it up down the stretch."
Rachel Albert led Sehome with 10 points, and Bayless added nine.
LC (17-3, 10-2 NWC) has earned the Class 1A District Tournament's No. 1 seed and faces the district's No. 8 seed at 7 p.m. Monday, Feb. 4, at Lynden Christian. Sehome (10-9, 7-4) plays its final regular season NWC game at home against Burlington-Edison on Tuesday, Feb. 5.
