FERNDALE - Students in the Ferndale School District now know which elementary and middle schools they'll go to next year, after the school board unanimously approved new middle school boundaries at its meeting Thursday, Jan. 31.
The boundaries had to be adjusted because of the closure of Mountain View Elementary and the move of sixth-grade students from elementary into middle schools starting fall 2013.
The same task force that created next year's elementary boundaries worked to create the new boundaries for the district's two middle schools, Horizon and Vista.
According to the new map, students at Eagleridge, Custer and the western portion of Cascadia will go to Horizon Middle School, while Beach, Central, Skyline and the larger eastern portion of Cascadia will go to Vista. Cascadia was split between the two middle schools in the current map.
