Former Blaine standout turns in quick time at UW Invitational

University of Washington senior hurdler Shayne Moore (Blaine) matched his fastest indoor track and field time in the 60 hurdles on Saturday, Jan. 26, at the UW Invitational at Dempsey Indoor.

Moore qualified for the final with a run of 8.29 seconds in the preliminaries, before turning in an 8.15-second time in the final. He finished fourth to 2012 Pac-12 110 meter hurdle champion Johnathan Cabral from Oregon, 2011 Pac-10 110 meter hurdle champion Ray Stewart from Cal and UW standout freshman Chris Williams.

GREENE TURNS IN ANOTHER SOLID GAME

Northwest University junior forward Michael Greene (Squalicum) scored 15 points and grabbed seven rebounds in the Eagles' 75-71 loss to NAIA No. 1 Eastern Oregon in a Cascade Collegiate Conference game on Friday, Jan. 25.

One night later, he scored a game-high 32 points and again grabbed seven rebounds in an 84-72 loss to the College of Idaho.

Greene leads Northwest with 19.2 points and 8.8 rebounds per game.

DEBOER HELPS LADY GRIZ TO FIRST PLACE

Kenzie DeBoer (Lynden Christian) scored 15 points to help the University of Montana hold off Weber State 61-53 on Saturday to move into a tie with Montana State atop the Big Sky women's basketball standings.

DeBoer is leading the Lady Griz with 14.1 points per game this season.
