BLAINE - Police are asking for help after a man exposed himself to at least six women in Blaine in the past two months.
It's possible the same man was involved every time, according to the Blaine Police Department. In each case, one woman witnessed the man exposing himself in plain view.
Several of the women saw him masturbating in the driver's seat of a white car, said Blaine Police Chief Mike Haslip. Each time he drove off before police could arrive.
One case had some obvious differences. The suspect - a white man wearing a dark gray hoodie and black pants - approached an employee at 7:43 p.m. Jan. 23, inside a business in the 800 block of Peace Portal Drive, police said. He exposed himself. She yelled. He ran northbound on Peace Portal. Police arrived within a minute but couldn't find him. No security footage captured the incident.
Most victims told police the man appears in his late teens to mid-20s, clean-shaven, with brown hair. So far, officers have gotten only a vague picture of his car.
"Not too big, not too small," Haslip said. "Not too clean, not too dirty. Not too new, not too old."
Because, in most cases, the man was wearing a sweatshirt and sitting in the car, no consistent description has emerged of his height and build. The witness at the Peace Portal business told police he was shorter than 6 feet.
Haslip advised anyone who encounters the man to back off to a safe distance. Then, if possible, get a good look at his car's license plate and any other details about the vehicle: make, model, bumper stickers or decals.
Tips should be directed to Blaine police at 360-332-6769. After hours, call 911.
