A strong combination of offense and defense helped lead the Sehome girls' basketball team to a 49-18 Northwest Conference win over visiting Meridian on Monday, Jan. 28.
The win improved the Mariners to 10-8, 7-3 NWC while the Trojans dropped to 1-18, 0-11 NWC.
Sehome broke the game open by outscoring Meridian 23-0 in the second quarter.
"I thought we did a nice job in the second quarter of moving the ball around offensively and picking up our intensity defensively," Sehome coach Kim Kirk said in a phone interview.
The Mariners were led by Rachel Albert's 17 points and 12 rebounds.
Meridian was led by Taylor Lunde's nine points.
