WWU's Warman named GNAC female athlete of the week in track and field

Western Washington University's Emily Warman has been named the Red Lion/Great Northwest Athletic Conference Indoor Track & Field Female Field Athlete of the Week for Jan. 20-26.

Warman, a senior from Sedro-Woolley, improved her NCAA Division II provisional qualifying mark in the women's triple jump with a leap of 18-5 to place seventh at the University of Washington Husky Indoor Invitational on Saturday.

The weekly honor is the sixth for Warman during her career in indoor and outdoor competition.

A national indoor champion in the triple jump as a freshman, Warman holds school indoor records of 18-10 in the long jump and 39-11 1/2 in the triple jump and outdoor marks in the long jump of 19-2 and in the triple jump of 40-7.
