Rave: Thanks organizer Jeane Austin for Blaine Community Coat Drive

Published: January 28, 2013

Jeane Austin has been a wonderful, caring leader of the Blaine Community Coat Drive I believe since its inception. I have just learned that she is retiring from this position. Jeane lives in Bellingham but has volunteered countless hours to the people of Blaine. She haunted the local charitable stores for suitable coats all year.

She especially loves picking out beautiful, barely used childrens' coats. Jeane marshaled us through the sometimes-formidable task of collecting, sorting, hanging and distributing coats with humor and spunk. Her care, concern and love for her neighbors in Blaine has been a true inspiration to many of us and I thank her on behalf of all she has helped.

The coat drive will go on but the "general" will be missed. Thanks, Jeane.
