Bellingham artist Maryann Schmitt will be showing her paintings and drawings at Honey Salon, 310 W. Holly St, through March, opening from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday, Feb. 1, during the monthly Downtown Art Walk.

Through oil paint, pastel and charcoal, Schmitt seeks to capture her friends' authentic selves - both realistically and exaggerated - in her series "The Landscape of People." She will also be showing pieces from her current body of work, including some abstracts.
