Kyle Impero, Ian Tevis and Zach Stalin each scored more than 20 points to help the Whatcom men's basketball team earn a 102-81 win against Shoreline in a fast-paced NWAACC contest Saturday, Jan. 26, at Shoreline.
Stalin scored 24 points and grabbed a team-high nine rebounds, and Impero and Tevis scored 23 points.
"All of them played really well on both ends of the floor," said WCC coach Chris Scrimsher of his scoring trio in a phone interview.
Scrimsher said Shoreline pressed the entire game and forced an up-tempo style of play. Whatcom took advantage with a 55.8 percent shooting night. The Orcas also had 23 more rebounds than its counterpart.
Scrimsher was most pleased, though, with the Orcas' defensive effort, as Whatcom held Shoreline well under its 100-plus point scoring average. Eric Fongue added 14 points in the win.
WCC hosts Peninsula next at 6 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 2.
