The Lummi girls' basketball team lost 65-17 at Lopez in a Northwest League 1B game Friday, Jan. 25.
"Our younger players stepped up and helped a lot tonight," Lummi coach Woody Bakke said in a phone interview. "We had a lot of good shots but unfortunately they did not go our way."
Lummi (1-12, 1-8 NWC) was led by Samantha Wilson, who scored 10 points.
"Sam played really well as a point guard, wing and post on offense and defense," Bakke said. "Everyone continues to learn and learn how to play as a team."
Lummi will play at Muckleshoot on Saturday, Jan. 26.
