Bellingham town hall on health care reform set for Tuesday

BELLINGHAM - A town hall on the future of health care and health care reform in Whatcom County will be held Tuesday, Jan. 29, in Municipal Court, 2014 C St. in Bellingham.

The event runs 6 to 8 p.m. Whatcom Alliance for Health Advancement is organizing the event through its Community Organizing Group for Health, which is made up of community members.

It will feature a panel that will include:

-- Kelli Linville, mayor of Bellingham.

-- David Lynch, doctor with Family Care Network.

-- Sean Farnand, member of the Community Organizing Group for Health and Whatcom Medic One paramedic captain.

-- Liz Baxter, executive director of We Can Do Better.

-- Larry Thompson, executive director of Whatcom Alliance for Health Advancement.

-- Nancy Steiger, chief executive officer and chief mission officer for PeaceHealth St. Joseph

Medical Center.

Tickets are free, but seating is limited. Email dmpinney@hinet.org to reserve a seat.

BTV10 will video and broadcast the event. It also will be available for viewing at cob.org.
