Taylor Knutson and Taryn Knutson both came off the bench to give the Ferndale girls' basketball team a spark in a 63-41 Northwest Conference win over visiting Bellingham on Thursday, Jan. 24.
The win improved the Golden Eagles to 16-2, 10-0 while the Red Raiders dropped to 9-9, 3-6 NWC.
Taylor Knutson scored 11 and Taryn Knutson added seven points for Ferndale, which also had 16 points from Koral Weidkamp and eight rebounds and seven points from Linsey Honeycutt.
A 20-point second quarter helped the Golden Eagles take a 12-point lead going into halftime.
"I thought our guards did a great job getting the ball down low," Ferndale coach Mike Ivy said in a phone interview.
Bellingham was led by Joelle Zamora who scored 14 points.
