Baker girls' wrestling cruises past Sedro-Woolley 63-6

The Mount Baker girls' wrestling team won every match it competed in in its 63-6 win at Sedro-Woolley on Wednesday, Jan. 23.

"It went better than I expected," Mount Baker coach Clyde Blockley said in a phone interview. "It was a whole team effort and every girl stepped up tonight. We're getting geared up for the postseason and I think we're getting ready."

Sylvia Lynch pinned Courtney Wright in the 145 weight class in 1 minute, 42 seconds, and Natalie Smith (112) pinned Torie Barnes in 1:58 for the Mountaineers (3-0).

Mount Baker will next compete in the Northwest Conference Championships at Nooksack Valley High School on Friday, Jan. 25.
