The Blaine wrestling team defeated Sehome 66-12 in a Northwest Conference meet Wednesday, Jan. 23, at Blaine High School.
"Our two senior leaders, Justin Belding and Caleb Johnson, went out and got quick pins and did a great job tonight," Blaine coach Craig Foster said in a phone interview.
Belding pinned Asa Arena in 39 seconds in the 152 weight class and Johnson (220) pinned Josh Whitman in 28 seconds for the Borderites (6-0 3-0 NWC).
Jose Ramirez (145) from Sehome (3-3, 2-3 NWC) pinned Eddie Fontes in 8:26 and Zach Zimmerman (170) provided the other win for the Mariners after pinning Tanner Anthony in 4:41.
Blaine will next play Ferndale on Thursday, Jan. 24, in a Northwest Conference double-dual meet, while Sehome will next participate in the Northwest Conference District tournament.
