Hastings sparks second half turnaround for Lions in 50-34 win over Sehome

The Lynden boys' basketball team capitalized in the second half to defeat Sehome 50-34 in a Northwest Conference game Tuesday, Jan. 22, in Lynden.

"It was a slow pace game with both teams struggling to score in the first half," Lynden coach Brian Roper said in a phone interview. "Scott Hastings came off the bench and sparked us with five quick points to extend our lead to six."

Lynden (15-1, 8-0 NWC) had a 16-15 halftime lead. Hastings scored all eight of his points in the second half for the Lions. Dak Shagren led Lynden with 10 points.

Charlie Linneman led Sehome (12-4, 5-3 NWC) with 18 points and five rebounds.

"I thought Linneman was really efficient for them shooting 9-of-10," Roper said.

The Mariners host Nooksack Valley on Thursday, Jan. 24, while Lynden hosts Blaine on Friday, Jan. 25, both Northwest Conference games.
