The Lummi boys' basketball team overcame a poor shooting night and a 15-1 first-quarter deficit to earn a 43-41 Northwest 1B come-from-behind win against Grace Academy Tuesday, Jan. 22, at Lummi.

The Blackhawks were led by Logan Toby's team-high nine points and Dino Williams' seven. Lummi shot just 28 percent from the field but were still able to overcome a 23-15 halftime deficit.

"It wasn't a good shooting night for us, but we hustled, brought effort and energy," Lummi coach Jerome Toby said in a phone interview. "Even though we didn't shoot the ball well, everyone contributed in the win."

The Blackhawks used a 19-point third quarter to take the lead and held off Grace Academy down the stretch.

Lummi (11-4, 8-1) travels to Lopez on Friday, Jan. 25, for a Northwest League 1B game.
