LYNDEN - An upcoming agriculture conference will address a variety of topics about food sustainability and farming management.
The 2013 Northwest Washington Sustainable Agriculture Conference is a daylong event that starts at 8 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 23, at the Mt. Baker Rotary building, 1751 Front St.
Several sessions will feature topics relevant to sustainable and organic producers. Topics include plant disease identification and management, cover-cropping strategies, poultry production, and composting.
Washington State University's Whatcom County Extension program organized the event. Registration begins at 7:30 a.m. Details, including ticket prices, are at whatcom.wsu.edu.
