Blazers fall to league leaders in hockey action

The Bellingham Blazers lost to league-leading West Sound Warriors 5-3 in junior hockey action on Saturday, Jan. 19.

"We couldn't play a full 60 minutes tonight and we got outplayed," coach Mark Collin said in a press release.

The Warriors were the first to score halfway through the first period for a 1-0 lead and later took a 2-0 lead in the second period.

The Blazers got on the board with just under seven minutes remaining in the second when Cody Rich scored shorthanded with an assist by Mason Wade.

West Sound took a 4-1 lead in the third period until Mason Wade scored for Bellingham for a 4-2 score.

Robert MacDonald saved 40 shots on goal for the Blazers.
