The Whatcom Community College women's basketball team shot 33 percent from the floor and couldn't keep up with Bellevue College, as the Orcas lost 57-45 during a NWAACC game Saturday, Jan. 19.
WCC's Cambie Edwards scored a team-best 14 points and grabbed nine rebounds. Erika Locker scored 12 points, and Bree Park added nine.
"Offensively, we never really got going tonight," Whatcom coach Sara Bergner said in a phone interview. "We didn't shoot a great percentage, and we turned the ball over too much. You can't do that and win against a good team like Bellevue."
Bellevue led 20-19 at halftime but slowly pulled away in the second half. BC's Airashay Rogers and AC DenHartog scored 12 points. Former Sehome standout Jori Hall scored five points for Bellevue.
Whatcom travels to play Everett next at 5 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 23.
