Bellingham Theatre Guild's winter musical, "Quilters," by Barbara Damashek and Molly Newman, opens Friday, Jan. 25, and runs through Feb. 10 at the guild playhouse, 1600 H St.
Rather than a straightforward storyline, "Quilters" is a series of short stories, songs and dances in which a mother and her six daughters share an aspect of life on the American frontier and womanhood. As the women spin their yarns, they create a quilt of glorious colors and magical presence, a reflection of their family history, hopes and dreams. Directed by Mish Kriz.
Evening shows are at 7:30 p.m. Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays, and Sunday matinees begin at 2 p.m. Tickets are $12 adults, $10 seniors and students, $8 children. Details: 360-733-1811, bellinghamtheatreguild.com.
