LINSEY HONEYCUTT

Sport: Girls’ basketball

Year: Sophomore

What she did: Honeycutt scored 15 points and pulled down 15 rebounds in the Golden Eagles’ 47-44 victory over Lynden Christian on Monday, Jan. 14. Honeycutt entered Friday, Jan. 18, leading the Northwest Conference with 14.2 points per game this season and has helped Ferndale stay perfect in conference play.

NICK IACONETTI

School: Lynden

Sport: Wrestling

Year: Senior

Weight class: 126 pounds

What he did: Iaconetti won the 126-pound Northwest Conference championship Jan. 12 at Sehome. Iaconetti said it was his first tournament title. Iaconetti beat Sehome’s Steven Yazzie 9-5 in the quarterfinals, pinned DJ Otis in the semifinals and beat Nooksack Valley’s Taylor Gardner 15-0 in the title match.
