Government offices and public schools will be closed Monday, Jan 21, in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day, which honors King's birthday. Grocery stores, Bellis Fair, most retail stores and restaurants will be open.

Whatcom County and city of Bellingham offices - closed.

Bellingham parking meters - not enforced.

Whatcom County Library and bookmobile - closed.

Bellingham Public Library - closed.

Banks - Most are closed.

Postal Service - No regular mail delivery.

Garbage service - SSC has regular pickup schedule.

Western Washington University, Whatcom Community College, Bellingham Technical College, Northwest Indian College - closed.

Whatcom Transportation Authority - Buses running on regular schedule.

Movie theaters - open.

The Bellingham Herald - offices open; regular newspaper delivery.
