Leann Avery and Sean Kanda announce their engagement and plans for a March 23, 2013 wedding in Bellingham.

The prospective bride is the daughter of Clint and Karen Avery of Bellingham. Leann graduated from Meridian High School, the University of Washington and Western Washington University. She is employed as a teacher at Meridian Middle School.

The prospective groom is the son of Michael and Diane Kanda of Bellingham. Sean graduated from Squalicum High School and the University of Washington. He is employed as an engineer at RH2 Engineering.

The couple met through a mutual friend. The proposal took place on September 22, 2012 at Boulevard Park.
