The Squalicum girls' basketball team came back to win 45-40 at Sedro-Woolley in a Northwest Conference game Friday, Jan. 18.
"Both teams were turning the ball over a lot and shooting really poorly," Squalicum coach Mark Wright said in a phone interview. "We were down nine at half and I am really proud of how we responded in the second. It was an ugly game but we are happy to come out with a win."
Jessica Greene led the Storm (4-12, 3-5 NWC) with 17 points and seven rebounds.
"Jessica really led us in the second half," Wright said. "We tried to put more pressure on the ball with some quicker players and that seemed to work and we forced them into some turnovers."
Squalicum hosts Ferndale on Monday, Jan. 21, in a Northwest Conference game.
