It is with great urgency that I encourage my fellow citizens to support our U.S. Postal Service and to make your voices heard. Not only is the Postal Service guaranteed by our U.S. Constitution (Article 1, Section 8, Clause 7 of the U.S. Constitution ), it is a completely self-sufficient service that contributes to all facets of our population. It is time to imagine not being able to go to your mail box to pick up correspondence from your loved ones and your church, your household bills, or your medications. Rural and aged populations will be particularly hit hard if we allow the plurocrats who want to privatize every last public agency to close the doors on the post office. Few of us know about the midnight legislation that enacted government-mandated payments to pre-fund health care benefits for postal retirees -- 75 years into the future. I repeat, 75 years into the future. Crazy? It's true. It must be hard for most of you to imagine the U.S. without a U.S. Postal Service. Beware, it could happen.
