Saturday morning is go time for Bogus Basin’s new top-to-bottom terrain park.

The 50-acre park on the front side of the mountain begins on Shaker Ridge and ends on Bogus Creek Trail.

With a 1,300-foot vertical drop, the park features a slew of components, including jumps, moguls, rollers, rails, stashes and an off-trail feature with stump bonks and log slides.

Bogus Basin sent two employees to Cutter's Camp training program to learn the tricks of the trade for creating terrain park features.

A sound system will be installed next week and Mambo Meadows lighting will be installed this summer.

The J.A. and Kathryn Albertson Foundation gave Bogus Basin a $100,000 grant last month to expand the park, which is officially called the Mtn Dew Terrain Park, after its key sponsor.

Opened in 1942, Bogus Basin offers 2,600 acres of daytime skiable terrain and 165 acres for night skiing; seven lifts and two people-mover carpets; and an 800-foot tubing hill.
