Lynden puts up impressive numbers in win over Mount Baker

The Lynden boys' basketball team held host Mount Baker without a field goal in two quarters in a 68-17 Northwest Conference win on Thursday, Jan. 17.

The Lions didn't allow the Mountaineers a field goal in the first quarter as they built a 31-1 lead. Lynden also kept Mount Baker from recording a field goal in the third q uarter.

"I thought our energy was really good," Lynden coach Brian Roper said in a phone interview.

Dak Shagren led the Lions (13-1, 7-0 NWC) with 17 points while Jaremy Martin added 13 points.

"Martin and Shagren both were very active on the offensive end," Roper said.

The Lynden defense didn't allow Mount Baker to record a 3-pointer or an assist in the game.

Mount Baker (4-11, 1-6 NWC) was led by three players with four points each - Ty Munsell, Harrison Whitmyre and Conner Brandland.
