The Lynden wrestling team only lost three matches as it defeated Anacortes 55-19 at home in a Northwest Conference meet Wednesday, Jan. 16.

"It was a good win for us and a lot of our seniors got to wrestle, which was nice," Lynden coach Randy Anderson said in a phone interview. "Nick Iaconetti improved to 24-3 on the season and he bumped up a weight class and wrestled really well. Roman Castillo also wrestled up and got a big win for us and that was nice to see."

Iaconetti defeated Julian Collins 8-0 in the 132 weight class and Castillo (285) pinned Caleb Frazier in 39 seconds.

Raven Marquez (120) pinned Austin Curtis in 1:11 for the Lions (2-5, 2-2 NWC).

Lynden will host the Lynden Tournament on Saturday, Jan. 19.
