The Mount Baker girls' wrestling team earned a 51-18 win at Burlington-Edison in a Northwest Conference meet Wednesday, Jan. 16.
"We had a couple younger girls that stepped up to the plate," Mount Baker coach Clyde Clockley said in a phone interview. "I was impressed with Sylvia Lynch. It was her first varsity match and she got a pin."
Lynch pinned Caitlynn Moore in 3 minutes in the 137 weight class.
Natalie Smith (118) defeated Casandra Becerra 9-2 for the Mountaineers (3-0, 3-0 NWC), and Akemi Schwinden (235) pinned Larissa Carrel in 15 seconds.
Mount Baker travels to Sedro-Woolley for a Northwest Conference meet on Wednesday, Jan. 23.
