WCC women earn easy home victory

The Whatcom Community College women's basketball team cruised to an 85-28 victory Wednesday, Jan. 16, at home over Olympic.

Bree Park had 18 points, including four 3-pointers, Erika Locker had 15 points, Cambie Edwards added 14 points, Amanda Tapia had 10 points and five assists and Margaret Redelinghuis had five points, nine rebounds and five assists.

WCC coach Sara Bergner said it was good to get some work in during a blowout victory.

"Everybody got playing time and everybody contributed so that was good to see tonight," Bergner said in a phone interview.

Whatcom (4-0, 11-5) plays Bellevue, also unbeaten in the NWAACC North Division, for first place at 4 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 19, at Bellevue.
