Kyle Impero had 22 points, nine rebounds and six assists to lead the Whatcom Community College men's basketball team to a 85-66 NWAACC North Division win over visiting Olympic on Wednesday, Jan. 16.
The Orcas improved to 10-6, 2-2 North with the win.
"We took a step in a positive direction," Whatcom coach Chris Scrimsher said in a phone interview.
Scrimsher said the team was able to play well against Olympics' press and zone defense.
"We played with discipline," Scrimsher said.
The Orcas, which led by 16 at halftime, had 18 points from Zach Stalin, 14 points from Eric Fongue and 12 points from Alex Duncan.
Whatcom hosts Bellevue at 6 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 19.
