Lee Posthumus and Elisabeth Starnes were married on December 21, 2012 at a small ceremony in their Bellingham home with Sister Carmen Williams of the Church of Dog officiating.

Rebecca Bryson of Bellingham and Kristine Moore of Spokane served as witnesses. Elisabeth's daughter, Laura Burkin, and her husband, Richard, attended via Skype from Punta Gorda, Florida.

Lee is a senior instructor at WWU where she has taught English as a Second Language in the Asia University America Program for 17 years. Elisabeth worked as a technical writer at Dealer Information Systems for 24 years until her retirement.

Lee and Elisabeth have been partners for 18 happy years.
