The Lummi girls' basketball team lost at home 63-42 to Taholah in a non-conference game on Tuesday, Jan. 15.
"We are doing a much better job moving the ball around and having better shot selection," Lummi coach Woody Bakke said in a phone interview. "We controlled the boards and improved our free throw percentage and were aggressive."
Bakke said Lummi outscored an opponent in the fourth quarter for the first time this year when the team outscored Taholah 19-9.
Lummi (1-10, 1-6 NL1B) was led by Dawn James, who scored 25 points, and Seaneen Roberts, who scored five and had six rebounds.
"Roberts dominated the boards and really caused a lot of jump ball situations," Bakke said. "Dawn shot really well in the second half for us. It's been amazing to watch the improvement over the season."
Lummi travels to Highland Christian on Friday, Jan. 18, in a Northwest League 1B game.
