A good start didn't last long as the Meridian girls' basketball team lost 55-21 at Anacortes in Northwest Conference action Tuesday, Jan. 15.
The Trojans (1-13, 0-6 NWC) were down just 10-7 after the first quarter before scoring one point in the second quarter.
"We got off to a good start," Meridian coach Don McMains said in a phone interview. "We controlled probably the first two-thirds of the first quarter, then all of a sudden we let their pressure get to us. We just weren't able to get into our offense.'
Allecia Galindo led the Trojans with six points and six rebounds and Kendra Holmes had five points and six rebounds.
Meridian hosts Blaine on Friday, Jan. 18, in a Northwest Conference game.
