Balanced attack leads Bellingham girls to win over Sedro-Woolley

Balanced scoring and a strong second half led the Bellingham girls' basketball team to a 50-31 Northwest Conference win over visiting Sedro-Woolley on Tuesday, Jan. 15.

The win improved the Red Raiders to 9-7, 3-4 NWC.

Every player scored in the game for Bellingham, which took an eight-point lead into halftime. The Red Raiders controlled the second half when they outscored the Cubs by seven points in each quarter.

"We struggled to score in the first half," Bellingham coach Brad McKay said in a phone interview. "We kept fighting."

Joelle Zamora led the Red Raiders with 12 points while Olivia Halverson had eight points and five assists.

Bellingham travels to Sehome on Friday, Jan. 18, in a Northwest Conference game.
