Mariah Perry had 13 points and Lindy Swanson had 11 points as the Nooksack Valley girls' basketball team defeated visiting Squalicum 51-45 in a Northwest Conference match on Monday, Jan. 14.
The Pioneers (9-4, 4-2 NWC) held off the Storm (3-12, 2-5 NWC) in the fourth quarter after Squalicum made a late run.
"We were able to hit some foul shots down the stretch," Nooksack Valley coach Shane Wichers said in a phone interview.
Lindsay Hayes added nine points for the Pioneers.
Squalicum was led by Janna Poradun's 16 points.
