Snow flurries reported in Blaine, Lynden areas

Published: January 14, 2013

BLAINE - Light snow was falling in the northern parts of Whatcom County Monday morning, Jan. 14.

Snow was sticking in Blaine down through Birch Bay and in Lynden. It didn't seem to be falling as far east as Sumas or as far south as Ferndale.

Most roads appeared to be mostly clear, but drivers should use caution.

The National Weather Service forecast calls for some snow flurries Monday but no significant snowfall. Temperatures are expected to climb above freezing each day this week in the Bellingham area, then fall below it overnight. While snow isn't expected to be a problem, there could be freezing fog Tuesday night and Wednesday.
