Reader poem: 'Together Still'

Published: January 14, 2013

I whispered into his fading ear:

I've loved you, darling, for many a year.

Ages it seems since we first kissed,

Opening the door to wedded bliss.

And now we sit on our faded couch

Our hand knotted and twisted with years

Our faces reflecting smiles and tears.

You've given me children

Surpassing fine

Supported and aided each dream of mine.

You've stayed by my side through thick and thin,

Opened your heart and let me in,

Told me the stories of your long life

How blessed I am to be your wife!
