An unexpected 10-day stay at St. Joseph Hospital with time spent in the ER, ICU and second-floor north wing has given me an even higher respect for what nurses, certified nursing assistants and doctors do for us.
While it is quite humbling to be in the hands of another person, these men and women take charge with amazing skill, compassion and humor. From the moment I arrived by ambulance, everyone treated me as a person, not just a series of needles and IVs lying in a bed.
I wish I could thank every one of you individually, but I hope you know who you are and what an impact you made on me. You are amazing caregivers and we are very lucky to have you at our hospital.
