Lummi girls' basketball falls 61-20 to Tulalip Heritage

Published: January 12, 2013

The Lummi girls' basketball team lost at home 61-20 to Tulalip Heritage in a Northwest League 1B game Friday, Jan. 11.

"We were too soft in our passing and need to improve on that," Lummi coach Woody Bakke said in a phone interview. "We had some great passes when we did look up the floor but we need to work on our consistency. Our transition game hurt us again tonight."

Bakke said early foul trouble and missed shots were main factors in the loss.

Lummi (1-9, 1-6 NL1B) was led in scoring by Dawn James, who scored nine points.

"The score might not show it but we have really improved than the last time we played them," Bakke said. "They played hard from the beginning to the end and are stepping up every week."

Lummi travels to Neah Bay on Saturday, Jan. 12.
