Bodger leads Golden Eagles to 63-25 win over Meridian

Published: January 12, 2013

Kendra Bodger led the Ferndale girls' basketball to a 63-25 victory at home against Meridian Friday, Jan. 11, in a Northwest Conference game.

"Bodger had 10 points, seven rebounds and eight blocks and it was her best game of the year," Ferndale coach Mike Ivy said in a phone interview. "She controlled the defensive end and changed probably five or six more shots and that was huge for us."

The Golden Eagles (12-2, 6-0 NWC) were led by Hannah Carlson, who scored 14 points, and Koral Weidkamp added 12.

The Trojans (1-12, 0-5 NWC) were led by Allecia Galindo, who scored six points and had five rebounds.

"Meridian is really scrappy and they never gave up and kept coming for us," Ivy said.

The Golden Eagles travel to Lynden Christian on Monday, Jan. 14, while Meridian travels to Anacortes on Tuesday, Jan. 15, both Northwest Conference games.
