As expected I now read countless articles and opinions about how Americans should be ashamed of themselves if we do not impose strict gun control upon our citizens. There are those who constantly attack the Constitution and shamelessly uses every misfortune to further their causes and erode our freedoms, rather than look deeper into the real causes that infect our nation's citizens to commit such crimes in the first place. Horrendous crimes, often committed by young people, for no apparent reason.
Where is the dialogue about what I believe to be society's war on God, family and traditional American values? Does our desire to chisel every reference to God from our public buildings, silence every word in our schools, demonize moral character handed down over generation, have any repercussions? We hand out condoms at schools, make abortion preferable to counseling, don't tell the parents. What about borrowing enormous amounts of money at the expense of our children's future, and for what, to promote the lies. Check out your kids' computers, movies they watch, see any problems there? Where are our thoughts of shame for these things?
We need to dig much deeper at what ails us. Society is creating the evil that visited Connecticut, not guns. We are still a free people, able to make choices. Let's reverse this trend of change and not throw away our freedom out of fear and lies.
