The Nooksack Valley girls lost in the final match against Sedro-Woolley and lost 41-30 Wednesday, Jan. 9, at Nooksack Valley High School.
"I really thought we would win that one," Nooksack Valley coach Michelle Dekoekkoek said in a phone interview. "Our lower weights had some problems. It was really close and if we would have pinned her we would have won by one point."
Amber Cramsey-Behnke pinned Logan Riggles in 40 seconds in the 235 weight class for the Pioneers (3-1, 1-1 NWC). Chloe Gardner (137) pinned Chloe Ammons in 1:28, and Kandice O'Bryan (145) pinned Pauline Mosch for Nooksack Valley.
The Pioneers will wrestle in the Burlington-Edison Women Invite on Saturday, Jan. 12.
