The Blaine wrestling team cruised to a double dual victory over visiting Nooksack Valley and Friday Harbor on Wednesday, Jan. 9.
The Borderites defeated the Pioneers 68-9 and beat Friday Harbor 78-0 to improve to 4-0.
Blaine freshman Preston Bellville earned his first varsity pin when he won in 1 minute, 38 seconds in a match against Nooksack Valley. Sophomore Ethan Childers also recorded his first varsity pin in 3:37 in a match against Friday Harbor.
"That was great for those young guys to do," Blaine coach Craig Foster said in a phone interview.
Also recording pins on the night for the Borderites were Billy Dodd at 113 pounds, Trevin Brady twice at 120, Gage Lott (126), Caleb Frey (138), Christian Sharp twice at 145, Justin Belding (152) and Caleb Johnson (220).
Blaine and Nooksack Valley will both participate in the NWC Tournament on Saturday, Jan. 12.
