The Whatcom Community College mens' basketball team defeated Skagit Valley College 76-71 in a NWAACC leage game Wednesday, Jan. 9, at Whatcom Community College.
"It was a difficult game for us to get into rhythm," Whatcom coach Chris Scrimsher said in a phone interview. "We didn't play as organized as we usually do and got caught up in the game and didn't dictate the pace and played quite sloppy tonight."
Whatcom (9-5, 1-1 NWAACC) was led by Kyle Impero, who scored 25 points, and Zach Stalin, who scored 20.
"We presented some problems inside with Stalin and Impero did a nice job so we had a nice threat from both angles," Scrimsher said.
The Orcas play next at 7 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 12, at Edmonds.
