Bellingham gallery hosts 26 hours of music to honor Sandy Hook victims

BELLINGHAM - The Blue Horse Gallery will host 26 hours of live music over four days to honor the 26 victims in the Sandy Hook Elementary School shootings.

The all-ages drop-in event begins at 6 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 10, at the gallery, 301 W. Holly St.

Donations will go to local charities working to help people in this community. In addition, organizers are asking people to commit to making 26 random acts of kindness in memory of the children and teachers killed in Newtown, Conn., on Dec. 14.

Here are the scheduled performers:

- 6 to 11 p.m. Thursday: Mark Ashworth, Chad Peterson and Friends, Marvin J and Friends.

- 6 to 9 p.m. Friday: Lindsay Street and act to be announced.

- 9:30 p.m. to midnight Friday: $10 charge with proceeds to charities. Performers Eef Barzelay of Clem Snide, The Heligoats.

- Noon to 9 p.m. Saturday: Local jazz singers and songwriters.

- 9 p.m. to midnight Saturday: $10 charge, performance by The Atlantics.

- 2 to 3:30 p.m. Sunday, Tacato Tango Music and tango dancing; 3:30 to 6, jazz and local music; 6 to 9, string music with Louis Ledford, Pretty Little Feet, Carly James, Kevin Nelson.
